Indonesia rings in the Future of Mobility
As the world’s fourth most populous country and the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia is a critical market for intelligent transport and tolling solutions. With over 280 million people and a rapidly urbanizing population, the country faces significant challenges in traffic congestion, emissions, and infrastructure development.
Indonesia’s government has prioritized smart mobility and digital transformation in its national development agenda, including major investments in toll road expansion, urban transit systems, and traffic management technologies. The country’s archipelagic geography also presents unique logistical and connectivity challenges that demand innovative, scalable solutions.
ITS Indonesia plays a vital role in aligning public and private sector efforts to modernize the nation’s transport systems, making it a key partner for global technology providers like Kapsch TrafficCom.
