Application centers oversee a specific market segment. Their mission is to define, develop and manage the products and solutions in their area of responsibility, in close cooperation with product management and sales regions. In our three application centers (tolling, traffic and back office) we work with agile methodologies and use technologies such as cloud computing, machine learning and computer vision.
Technology & Platforms
Our technology & platforms team is a cross-functional organization that drives technology innovation and harmonization globally, develops and integrates new innovative solutions as well as platforms across the different domains. It also provides and manages global development tools and supports with IPR (intellectual property rights) issues. Furthermore, technology & platforms is strengthening and sharing expert knowledge and resources with all application centers.
Our operations teams ensure efficient and effective operations of our solutions. Operations teams assure contract fulfillment, from both a technical and a commercial perspective. They are the main interface to our clients during the operations phase of a project. Our specialists drive efficiency and reduce operational costs and risks, and increase contract volume by active change management. The involved teams operate and maintain tolling, traffic management and tolling services systems.
Our delivery teams are project management professionals who are responsible for an efficient and effective delivery of customer projects within scope, schedule, and cost. They own the project methodology and strive to continuously improve project execution processes within Kapsch.
Our sales teams sell our solutions, products and services to our customers, primarily public authorities or concessionaries as well as prime contractors (i.e. private companies acting on behalf of an authority). They develop sales strategies to maintain existing and develop new markets, initiate and coordinate pre-sales and bidding activities, and they develop and maintain customer relations as well as an ecosystem of partners. Finally, sales actively contributes to form our global market strategy by reporting market demands to our technology departments, using our corporate tools.
Supply Chain Management
Our supply chain management and procurement teams work with clearly defined procurement strategies and collaborate actively with sales, product management and R&D to secure the supply of materials and services – on time and at efficient cost anywhere in the world. They optimize our working capital by managing our inventory and logistics processes, developing our supplier network, and negotiate contracts to secure the best possible terms and conditions.
Our manufacturing teams are experts in the fields of electronics manufacturing, automated assembly, system testing, RF testing, repairs, upgrades, laboratory services and test system development. They work within a lean production program that includes concepts such as 5S, value stream mapping, PFMEA and Kaizen. Our global production sites deliver key components like in-vehicle products, RF field products or video and sensor products.
Our internal global IT team is responsible for the design, deployment and operations of the IT infrastructure, corporate applications and tools. They ensure and guarantee the operating reliability of the IT systems and, consequently, a smooth workflow within the company as well as for all external stakeholders.
Our finance teams act as active partners to the business and provide the financial intelligence to optimize our financial position. They challenge the business to achieve better results and provide a strategic decision-making framework.
Legal provides solution-oriented legal advice to support the worldwide business activities. This includes working on public and private tenders and contracts as well as many other fields of law like competition law or IPR, providing legal support in projects and negotiations and handling corporate law and M&A projects. They manage relationships with external law firms and provide standards for the handling of legal affairs.
Marketing & Communications
Marketing and communications is the voice of our organization, internally and externally. They drive the promotion of our portfolio with a variety of channels and tools with the overall objective of generating demand and awareness.
Our human resources teams are shaping the way people work, collaborate and grow at Kapsch. They ensure smooth and user-oriented tools, processes and experiences, e.g. in recruiting, career mobility, workplace flexibility, rewards and learning.
