To whom it may concern:

The Austin TMC Group provided excellent service during our recent winter weather. All staff was able to quickly and efficiently go remote for a few days due to hazardous road conditions. We were able to act fast and ensure each operator had the necessary hardware and software to perform their duties seamlessly. The TIM Center staff communicated throughout the duration of the storm with status reports as well as with each other, resulting in smooth operation for the duration of the weather event. I am grateful for the support this group offers and for the dedication from of our operators.

Thank you,

Tropical Storm Elsa & Surrounding Weather Events, July 8th – July 12th, 2021

Kapsch teams came together for this extraordinary weather event. Our TMC interagency coordinated VMS messaging, our TMC Management Team, Field Technicians and IT groups were all aligned on substantial storm preparation to be ready for whatever Mother Nature would send.

Our operators faced many different challenges but were able to manage with grace including:

  • 20 flooding incidents in one day: Highest since July 22, 2019, and tied for most since Jan. 2018
  • 9 locations had all lanes blocked by flooding: Bronx and Manhattan flash flooding at unprecedented locations
US Weather
Hurricane Ida, August 29th, 2021

Hurricane Ida made landfall in Louisiana as a high-end Category 4 hurricane. Kapsch TMC staff were notified 48 hours in advance to prepare for the storm .

As conditions deteriorated in southeast Louisiana, a power loss led to TMC closures, operators were displaced, we had fuel shortages, and some staff were forced to evacuate their homes.

Kapsch supported the TMC staff during this event. Bonus payments were provided to all Kapsch employees to help them manage immediate personal issues . One employee reacted, “It was thoughtful, and much appreciated. I value working for a company that values its employees as people."
