Kapsch TrafficCom Prioritizes Data Integrity with OmniAir Certified 6C Sticker Tag Featuring Parity Checking

- Advanced chip technology features parity checking to automatically mitigate bit-flips and ensure reporting accuracy
- The achievement marks the third Kapsch product to earn OmniAir certification under the multiprotocol device program in 2025
- Successfully validated through rigorous testing at DEKRA, SunTrax, and Saugerties
Duluth, GA, February 26, 2026 - Kapsch TrafficCom, a global leader in tolling and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), today announced the OmniAir certification of its latest 6C sticker windshield mount transponder.
The certification confirms full industry interoperability, with the addition of advanced data reliability through integrated memory error detection with parity checking.
As tolling systems become more complex, the integrity of reported data is paramount. Kapsch’s new tag utilizes industry-leading chip technology to actively mitigate the occurrence of bit-flips - random errors in stored data often caused by environmental interference or hardware age.
With built-in parity checking, the transponder validates its own memory. This ensures that bit flips or other errors do not result in erroneous data being sent to the toll system. This ensures that tolling agencies receive only accurate, actionable data, significantly reducing the occurrence of mischarged accounts and administrative billing errors.
This Kapsch transponder has undergone exhaustive testing to meet the OmniAir Open Road Tolling 6C (MPD)-RFID R2.0 standards. The certification process involved rigorous validation across several key sites:
- DEKRA Test Laboratory: Technical conformance to R2.0 protocols.
- SunTrax (Auburndale, FL): Real-world field testing for connected infrastructure.
- Kapsch Saugerties Test Track: Precision lane mapping and comparison to previous certified transponder.
The certification of the 6C sticker tag marks Kapsch’s third certified product under the rigorous OmniAir multi-protocol certification program in the last 12 months. This momentum highlights Kapsch’s active role in the OmniAir Consortium, which included participation in the first U.S. multivendor V2X tolling demonstrations at the Florida Plugfest.
“Certification is the baseline, but our focus is on solving the real-world data challenges our customers face every day,” said Lauri Brady, Kapsch VP of Connected Vehicles and Component Sales. “By integrating parity checking into our 6C Sticker Tag, we are directly addressing the issue of bit-flips to ensure our partners have the most reliable, high-integrity data in the industry.”
