Kapsch TrafficCom Unveils the Next‑Generation EcoTrafiX Platform to Empower Smarter, Connected and Sustainable Mobility

- More consistency, reliability, intelligence in traffic management, with native connected vehicle integration
- Cloud or on-premise deployment
- Platform will be shown at Intertraffic 2026
Vienna, January 29, 2026 — Kapsch TrafficCom today announced the launch of its next‑generation EcoTrafiX Platform, a future‑ready mobility management solution designed to unify and modernize urban traffic operations for cities worldwide.
The platform consolidates long‑standing Kapsch technologies – including connected vehicle, AI, and predictive functionalities from different products – into a single integrated console that delivers advanced, scalable, and connected traffic management capabilities.
“With its single, intuitive operator interface for monitoring, analysis and decision-making, we are providing our customers with software that really makes a difference in how they manage their traffic. We are especially proud of our alignment with WCAG 2.0 AA accessibility standards, ensuring usability for a diverse range of operators,” explains Tom Leuchtner, EVP Product Management at Kapsch TrafficCom.
The EcoTrafiX Platform introduces a comprehensive and modular architecture that adapts to the complexity of urban mobility. Designed to support both traditional traffic management and emerging connected vehicles applications, the platform enables mobility agencies to operate with greater consistency, reliability, and intelligence.
Key capabilities of the EcoTrafiX Platform include:
- Planning and monitoring of traffic and events cross-functionally, without the need to jump between different platforms
- Advanced Incident Management with automated detection and response workflows
- Real-time dashboards & reporting, powered by industry-leading analytics tools
- Device management covering both classic traffic devices and next-generation C‑ITS equipment
- Predictive analytics & connected vehicle integration for proactive mobility strategies
- Decision support tools enabling optimized, data‑driven operational planning
“The combination of all these capabilities through the modular platform architecture allows us to serve any urban traffic installation, from conventional urban set-ups to the most advanced mobility systems,” Tom Leuchtner adds.
The platform that is already being deployed in North America is built on a cloud‑native, microservices architecture, supporting container orchestration (Kubernetes) for maximum scalability, resilience, and ease of deployment—whether in the cloud or on‑premise.
