Kapsch TrafficCom Opens Four Toll Plazas in Serbia

Vienna, Austria, October 23, 2025 – Four new toll plazas have opened to traffic along the Moravski Corridor in central Serbia.
This is part of the ongoing infrastructure development of Serbia’s road network supported by Kapsch TrafficCom. This milestone marks a significant step forward in upgrading the Moravski Corridor, a vital route in the center of the country.
The Moravski Corridor is a major infrastructure initiative in Serbia, designed as a 112.4km motorway. It links the east-west axis of Serbia and integrates with the north-south corridor between Hungary and North Macedonia, forming part of a broader Balkan transportation network and connecting the A1 and A2 highways. Additionally, the Moravski Corridor serves as a vital connection between Serbia’s capital, Belgrade, and the Zlatibor mountain region – a popular tourist destination.
Ivan Katalina, Sales Manager Balkans for Kapsch TrafficCom, comments on the opening: “The implementation of the tolling systems is proceeding smoothly and on schedule. The deciding factors are our local expertise coupled with the international and know-how from global teams, which allow us to react quickly and comprehensively to any requests.”
The toll plazas, powered by SmartTOLL technology by Kapsch TrafficCom, are part of the overall project that encompasses 150 contracted lanes, 120 of which will be delivered by the end of 2025. In total, Kapsch TrafficCom is supplying technology for 16 toll plazas. At Prilipac toll plaza alone, more than 16,000 vehicles are processed daily, underscoring the scale and impact of the project.
