We are seeking a Commercial Project Manager to oversee the financial operations of our projects. The role involves analyzing operational and financial data, conducting competitive and efficiency assessments, and preparing strategic recommendations to support decision‑making.

You will evaluate market or operational changes, provide financial forecasts, and help drive solutions that enhance project performance and deliver strong value to our customers.

Your responsibilities:

  • Manages all commercial aspects that significantly influence the budget and actuals of assigned Category A and Category B projects.

  • Performs independent evaluations of the financial performance of a project in compliance with accounting and financial group standards applied by Kapsch TrafficCom.

  • Reviews price calculations, hourly rates and escalation assumptions, FX assumptions, cash flow, and ensures all commercial costs are included (banks, facilities, CAPEX, etc.).

  • Participates in the commercial aspects of contractual negotiations and must approve the final version of financial terms and conditions before contract execution.

  • Analyzes customer requirements for insurance and bonds to ensure KTC is in compliance and provides cost estimates to be considered as project‑specific costs.

  • Leads the risk assessment process and provides recommendations regarding risk provisions to be considered in the margin, partnering with the pricing department and project management team to reconcile cost estimates and risk provisions before bid approval.

  • Coordinates and presents the project in the areas of accounting, controlling, and contract management for external purposes such as banks, insurance companies, external audits, and corporate requests.

  • Audits reporting tools to ensure compliance with financial reporting guidelines, group standards (Project Info Base), and IFRS Standards.

  • Reviews cost allocations to ensure they align with contract requirements and fall within the scope of the customer contract.

  • Monitors financial performance (net sales, costs, invoicing) versus various baselines (Budget, Approved Plan, FC) and provides deviation analysis, as well as recommends actions to improve project performance.

  • Initiates project approvals in case of deviations from the approved plan to ensure estimates at completion are properly and timely reported.

  • Supports project managers in modeling the financial impact of change orders on customer and subcontractor claims or disputes, specifically regarding financial assumptions related to established terms and conditions.

  • Supports periodic risks and opportunities reviews, ensuring reporting is properly and timely updated in local management tools and the Project Info Base on a monthly basis.

  • Approves all project purchase orders with the Project Manager as per Supply Chain/Finance DOA.

  • Acts as the guardian of rules (four‑eyes principle) from a financial compliance perspective at the project level by providing recommendations to management to ensure estimates at completion are consistent with company policies and guidelines from accounting and internal control requirements.

  • Prepares ad hoc analysis related to project trends as needed.

  • Responsible for reporting, controlling, and analysis of the overall portfolio of operations projects (FP&A).

  • Provides guidance regarding revenue recognition and accounting in operations and maintenance projects.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in commercial project management, customer project controlling, contract management, or contract negotiations in mid‑ to long‑term projects.

  • 1+ year of experience in project business in the field of Transportation, O&G, Infrastructure, or similar.

  • Advanced skills in MS Excel.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
