A need for modern traffic management in a growing and dynamic city
Ribeirão Preto, one of Brazil’s most affluent mid-sized cities, needed a scalable and future-ready solution to modernize its urban mobility system. With nearly 700,000 residents and a growing demand for efficient public transport, the city set out to prioritize public transport, upgrade its traffic control infrastructure, and build a new operational control center.
A fully integrated platform supporting next-generation mobility
To meet the city's needs, Kapsch TrafficCom implemented its EcoTrafiX™ Traffic Management System along with a modern Operational Control Center (CCO). The solution included 84 EcoTrafiX™ controllers managing 250 intersections equipped with 158 sensors, BRT system integration, and variable message signs (PMV) delivering real-time traffic updates.
