Connected Vehicle

Connected Vehicle technology allows cars and other vehicles to communicate, both with each other, and with the roadway itself.

What are Connected Vehicle services?

What are Connected Vehicle services?

Connected vehicles are one of the core drivers and transformers of our industry. Our Connected Vehicle (CV) services solution portfolio spans across different market segments – our traditional B2G and B2B business and enabling services for our customer, strategic partners, and internal portfolio partners such as Tolling Services, Tolling and Demand Management.

Introduction-Section-700x447
Corridor and Intersection management solutions
  • Is the key entry point for connected corridor solutions: Provides message-based electronic message signs for speed warnings, construction warnings, school zones and other similar safety and mobility information. Serves as the communications gateway between the roadway operator the roadway itself.
Orchestrated corridor management
  • Expands upon and builds on the base corridor management solutions by offering more digital-based services such as a mobility hub, edge computing services and supervision or orchestration of a corridor. Orchestrated Corridor is the the digitization of transport corridors to enable a new era of proactive safety and connected services.

CV Hardware is the foundation of our entire CV business. Hardware consists of:

RIS-9x60 V2X Roadside Platform

Our portfolio includes ITS-G5, C-V2X and Dual-Mode RSU.Kapsch 5.9GHz V2X Roadside Platform RIS-9x60 provides short range, ultra low latency wireless communication between infrastructure and vehicles for ITS such as Traffic Management Center, Signal Controllers or Edge applications to enable full capabilities of cooperative connected vehicle systems. Our open interface and modular architecture enables a scalable and future proof RIS-9x60 platform.

Features:

  • EU / AUS C-ITS protocols
  • US / CA IEEE / SAE WAVE protocols
  • Flexible scalable architecture
  • Versatile interfaces
  • Options: LTE backhaul; BT / WLAN; HMI

CBX-9x60 V2X Onboard Platform

Our portfolio includes ITS-G5, C-V2X and Dual-Mode OBU. Kapsch 5.9GHz V2X Onboard Platform CBX-9x60 provides short range, ultra low latency wireless communication between vehicles and infrastructure for ITS applications to enable full capabilities of cooperative connected vehicle systems. Our open interface and modular architecture enables a scalable and future proof CBX-9x60 platform.

Features:

  • EU / AUS C-ITS protocols
  • US / CA IEEE / SAE WAVE protocols
  • Flexible scalable architecture
  • Versatile interfaces
  • Options: LTE backhaul; BT / WLAN; HMI
  • Mobile Platform: 4G/5G OBU smartphone app.

vRSU – V2X virtual Roadside Platform
  • A cloud-based or on-prem solution for enabling the hybrid cellular based communication for the CMCC to exchange information with hybrid C-ITS onboard units and smartphone application.
  • Providing the capability of consuming and distributing information where no physical roadside units are available and therefore expanding the covering of cooperative ITS systems, while enabling secured and reliable message exchange using dedicated PKI/SCMS connectivity.

       Services:

  • Communication with mobile Onboard Units
The C-ITS messages are already signed to ensure authenticity, therefore an additional interface to a PKI Provider must be given.CMCC sends & receives C-ITS data via the C-ITS web server.
  • Communication with mobile personal devices (e.g., Smartphones)
External subscriber can use the C-ITS web server to receive latest traffic management related information via the cellular connectivity.
CMCC – Connected Mobility Control Center
  • A cloud-based or on-prem software suite for managing and monitoring the Connected-Vehicle-Environment while enabling direct communication to connected road users.
  • A user-friendly visualization of selected information to monitor real-time events and creating standardized cooperative ITS messages to enable fully interoperable intelligent transport systems.
  • Allowing easy integration with additional solutions and 3rd party data provider via a dedicated Mobility-Data-Hub API.

      Services:

  • Direct Communication
Enabling direct and targeted information distribution fast and where it is needed utilizing bi-directional communication capabilities and means like via physical or cellular connectivity.
  • CV-Data Analysis
Collect and provide access to CV Data for further analysis.
  • Easy Configuration and Maintenance of CV-infrastructure
Monitoring and supervision of physical and virtual roadside equipment.
