Job description
We are looking for a skilled Senior Specialist to lead the design and development of high performant geo-spatial data processing systems with strong emphasis on geo-spatial algorithms, graph databases and geo-analytics. This role is pivotal in shaping the architecture and core algorithms of advanced Location Based Services (LBS) for traffic management and tolling.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable GIS platforms and GNSS based services including the data ingestion, near real-time processing, storage, data analytics and visualization
  • Lead the design, implementation and refinement of geo-spatial algorithms and optimized data models for geo-queries, map matching, shortest path finding, maps conflation, etc.
  • Design, develop and refine the probabilistic models, typically used in Hidden Markov Models to deal  with GNSS data, based on both, statistical analysis and machine learning
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies for location-based services
  • Research on data and algorithmic processing
  • Optimize performance of maps, spatial queries and geo-processing tasks
  • Develop machine learning models such as transition probability estimation
  • Collaborate with data scientists, software and QA automation engineers, and domain experts
  • Gather, analyze, and document functional and technical system requirements
  • Work closely with development teams to deliver top quality work

Profile

  • Master’s or PhD in Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related field
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in system architecture, spatial databases, and statistical modeling
  • Solid understanding of GIS concepts, spatial data structures, coordinate systems, and map
    projections
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL
  • Practical knowhow of geo-spatial libraries
  • Experience with ML/DL applied to spatial data of advantage
  • Experience of real-time data processing and streaming using e.g., Kafka, MQTT of advantage
  • Working experience with IoT, GPS tracking of advantage
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work across interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong communication and technical leadership skills
  • Very good oral and written English skills
