We have an incredible and rare opportunity for an experienced Senior Systems/Commissioning Engineer to join our team on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will manage complex and exciting projects at the cutting edge of technology in the transport industry space.

Your responsibilities:

  • Act as the Kapsch roadside lead for systems installation, commissioning, testing, and system upgrades.

  • Interact directly with the Solution Centers during solution design and planning of new systems and upgrades, reviewing designs and recommending changes to ensure compliance with requirements.

  • Prepare and maintain design-related documentation.

  • Support the update and continuous improvement of internal quality and engineering processes related to engineering procedures and installation and commissioning activities.

  • Support project activity planning and organize roadside system activities and onsite resources, including contractor supervision and customer interfacing.

  • Estimate resources and activities for new client proposals in collaboration with the Sales team.

  • Prepare and deliver training materials, acting as a technical mentor and knowledge source for engineers and technicians within the Delivery and Operations teams.

  • Perform system performance analysis and provide technical support to ensure high levels of availability and performance.

  • Collect and analyse system data and logs to troubleshoot issues and correct deficiencies, with support from the Solution Centers.

  • Track, manage and report support issues internally to the Solution Centers and management, and externally to customers.

  • Participate in resource planning, project establishment and scoping activities for system implementations.

  • Maintain strong IT competency across networks, Linux, Windows, SQL and Microsoft Office.

  • Ensure compliance with engineering, electrical and HSSEQ standards, ensuring all procedures and requirements are adhered to.

  • Maintain product documentation, manuals and records of system faults and malfunctions.

  • Prepare and present technical materials for internal and external training sessions and corporate events.

  • Travel as required and directed by the Engineering Manager.

Your profile:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in installation and commissioning of high-reliability systems (e.g. transportation, communications or related fields).

  • Strong hands-on fault-finding and troubleshooting skills in IT environments.

  • Solid IT competency across databases, Windows, Linux, Microsoft tools and networking.

  • General knowledge of electrical standards and WHS (Work Health and Safety) requirements.

  • Working at Heights Supervisor Certificate.

  • Current full Australian driver’s licence.
