The Maintenance Manager will oversee maintenance program staff, field activities, and project operations related to the maintenance support of an ITS systems project. The candidate must be local to the Memphis area and will serve as the overall systems technical expert and the local project point of contact (POC).

Primary duties include managing a small technical team, working closely with clients and consultants, resolving complex technical issues beyond technician-level expertise; reading and interpreting system plans and schematics; and following specifications to implement, operate, and maintain system components. This role will manage technician scheduling, oversee field technicians and subcontractors, monitor system operations to ensure system integrity, provide direction to contracted vendors, and deliver training and technical support to project personnel. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the project fleet, local office, and warehouse; supporting technical solutions; and developing equipment upgrade and replacement estimates.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise technicians and subcontractors performing maintenance, modifications, and repairs of ITS and related systems.

  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, and schematics.

  • Provide technical and labor estimates as required.

  • Develop and manage project schedules related to staffing, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and equipment upgrades.

  • Oversee and maintain a continuous preventive maintenance program.

  • Perform diagnosis, testing, complex troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and repairs as needed.

  • Monitor daily maintenance activities and technician productivity.

  • Track ticketing and reporting of all activities to ensure timely response and resolution in accordance with contract SLAs.

  • Maintain office, warehouse, fleet vehicle inventory levels, and oversee equipment purchasing.

  • Maintain all required project reporting and serve as the local customer POC.

  • Perform QA/QC on all maintenance activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 years) in IT, Electronics, or Data Communications preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of field maintenance experience with staff supervisory responsibilities.

  • Must possess or be able to obtain a DOT medical card within one (1) month of employment.

  • Knowledge and understanding of low-voltage AC/DC circuitry, fiber optics, networking, and wireless communications.

  • Hands-on experience using test equipment and strong troubleshooting skills.

  • Located within reasonable distance of Memphis and ability to work outdoors, near freeways, and at heights if needed

  • Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Possession of a valid CDL class B license a plus
