The Site installation Manager is responsible for the adequate and safe installation of the electrical, mechanical and hardware infrastructure for the Kapsch ITS roadside installations in order to meet expected systems safety, availability and reliability. Provides technical expertise to the electrical and mechanical design process and supports maintenance and continuing operations of the on-site components of the Kapsch Systems.

We have an incredible opportunity for an experienced  Electrical Site Supervisor to join our team in Melbourne on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will manage complex and exciting projects at the cutting edge of technology in the transport industry space.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise site contractors ensuring on-site installations are deployed and tested in accordance with the requirements and maintained in a safe working condition.

  • Act as the main on-site liaison between subcontractors, client, and the Project Managers.

  • Enforce site safety, compliance, and quality control.

  • Ensure the electrical safety of the installations and meet electrical regulatory obligations.

  • Coordinate the installation and conduct inspections to ensure completed work meets relevant codes, client requirements, and standards.

  • Report to the relevant Project Manager and take their direction regarding project-related activities.

  • Provide technical input to the electrical design process and review and mark up drawings to produce As-Built documentation in accordance with the client’s requirements and relevant standards.

  • Put in place and enforce procedures for safe execution of on-site tasks (including task Instructions, permits to work, Safe Work Method Statements and Toolbox talks) acting as Safety Representative on-site.

  • Assess and manage site safety hazards.

  • Issue certificate of compliance in accordance with the applicable state laws and regulations.

  • Undertake materials and resource estimations for works to deliver within the boundaries of the approved budget.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of all on-site works.

  • Manage storage and inventory of materials and equipment.

  • Assist with the installation, testing and maintenance of the Kapsch Systems.

  • Complete all paperwork and permits associated with all installation and maintenance work.

Your profile:

  • Demonstrated experience as Electrical Supervisor with minimum 5 years on significant infrastructure or industrial projects.

  • Electrical Trade Qualification, and current Victorian Electrical License.

  • Sound knowledge of electrical AUS/NZ standards and construction safety regulations.

  • Understanding of current Health and Safety legislation and a proven ability to pragmatically apply this knowledge in a construction environment.

  • Experience managing people and sub-contractors ensuring they operate in a safe manner and in accordance with policies and procedures relating to Health, Safety and Quality.

  • Competence in MS Office suite.

  • Current Australian full driver’s license.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to create strong and productive relationships with staff and clients.

  • Self-starter attitude and a high level of initiative taking ownership of assigned tasks and able to see through to completion with high quality.
