Smart urban mobility
Smart mobility is one of six criteria applied when making a comprehensive evaluation of smart cities. The term "smart city" refers to integral concepts, that are aimed at making cities more efficient, technologically advanced, environmentally sustainable and socially inclusive. Smart mobility also directly impacts smart environment, which is another one of the assessment criteria. Forecasts predict that by 2050, urban mobility systems will have consumed approximately 17.3% of the Earth’s total biocapacity. Moreover, city dwellers will spend 106 hours sitting in traffic jams each year according to the calculations. That is twice as many hours as today.
