Acquisition brings Kapsch customers added digitilization competence

Vienna/Graz, October 14, 2015 – Austrian ICT expert Kapsch BusinessCom acquires a stake in Graz company evolaris next level GmbH. The research institution is regarded as a competence center for mobile communication and innovation. For Kapsch, this cooperation is a further building block in its process of expanding activities to digitalize customer value chains.

evolaris concentrates on leveraging the potential of digital connectivity (“Internet of Things”) and continues to place the focus on people. “We have enjoyed a very productive partnership for some time now. evolaris’ know-how in fields such as digital assistance systems will also play an important role in implementing our Industry 4.0 strategy. Together, we form a bridge between science and business, transforming evolaris’ scientific findings into user-friendly and future-proof innovations in our customers’ digitalization processes,” explains Jochen Borenich, Member of the Management Board of Kapsch BusinessCom.

Digital assistance systems

High-performance, digital assistance systems play an important role in smart enterprises and factories in which the physical and digital worlds are merging. These smart helpers provide support for many logistics, production, and service tasks, such as operating machinery. They support mobile data acquisition and processing in the fields of logistics and service. And at the same time, assistance systems can be used to input important information in real-time, which allows for the optimization and acceleration of processes. “We look forward to working with Kapsch who, thanks to its extensive ICT experience, enjoys excellent access to the production, retail, health, and financial services industries which are particularly important to us,” says evolaris Managing Director Christian Kittl.

evolaris is Austria’s leading competence center for digital innovations in an increasingly connected world. The company specializes in acceptance surveys and developing digital assistance systems which use personalized and context-sensitive human-machine interfaces to support users.
