COVID-19: a trigger for a mobility revolution?

15 July 2020

The master plans of numerous cities were changing towards environmental targets and reduction of motorized individual traffic already before the COVID-19 pandemic.

After the lockdown due to COVID-19 we very likely have to expect a significant increase in individual traffic as we, inter alia, experience a massive decrease of passenger levels in public transport according to recent surveys and traffic data. Cities may face funding challenges due to reduced revenue from public transport and a general shift of investment budgets to cope with the economic impact of COVID-19. In this webinar our experts – Gerd Gröbminger, Susanna Hauptmann, Michael Ganser and Richard Lax explained how instruments for mobility management can serve as an effective source of revenue collection and result in a win-win situation for cities, citizens and authorities.
