Kapsch CarrierCom at IT-Trans 2016: Public Transport goes smart

Intuitive graphical user interface of mobi.guider makes operations of public transport more convenient

Vienna/Karlsruhe, March 1, 2016 – “Go fresh. Go smart. Go graphical“ is the motto selected by Kapsch CarrierCom for IT-Trans, the fifth International Conference and Exhibition on IT Solutions for Public Transport in Karlsruhe, Germany. It perfectly describes the broad portfolio of IT- and telecommunications solutions for public transport Kapsch CarrierCom is offering. This ranges from systems for Automatic Fare Collection (AFC), Intermodal Transport Control Systems (ITCS) to innovative ways to increase energy efficiency and real-time monitoring in public transport networks. The company also offers TETRA technology to meet mission-critical communications requirements. Kapsch‘s highlight for IT-Trans is the mobi.guider solution with its unique graphical user interface. mobi.guider provides end-to-end AFC and ITCS tools that can be seamlessly integrated into the IT landscape of public transport operators.

Flexible and configurable AFC and ITCS

The mobi.guider system is a highly adaptable end-to-end solution for drivers and dispatchers. It helps the operator to work more productively and react faster to incidents and disruptions on the route. Configurable screen layouts and customization options allow adaptation to the specific needs. In 2014, Kapsch has acquired the Belgian Prodata Mobility Systems NV, a division of Prodata Technology Group. Since then, Kapsch CarrierCom has further invested into the brand new mobi.guider interface. “We have put a lot of R&D effort into making our AFC & ITCS solutions more intuitive and graphically appealing to answer the future needs of Public Transport operators“, says Thomas Schöpf, COO of Kapsch CarrierCom. The advanced AFC solution offers intuitive tools for the management of products, tariff structures and passenger accounts. Planning becomes much easier as there are faster procedures for the introduction of new routes and setting up detours. Daily operations are supported by vehicle tracking in real-time, scheduled and timetable views and intuitive messaging interface. As most common procedures are available via mouse click, minimal training is required.

International experts from transport operators, business, politics, government, research and development will present innovative solutions and their implementation over 15 conference sessions. Speakers are expected from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America.
