Kapsch TrafficCom develops smart solutions to make mobility safer, more sustainable and efficient for everybody. We design, build and operate traffic management systems including connected vehicles technology and mobility demand management as well as tolling services for cities, roads, tunnels and bridges around the world. We develop data and video analytics platforms, building on state-of-the-art technologies including AI, machine learning, big data and cloud services to enable the digitalization of mobility.

Major Responsibilities: Guide and support technical, business, and operational teams to develop tolling and transportation Backoffice solutions based on Kapsch’s products. Develop architecture in compliance with the company’s present and future vision, assuring developed artifacts are aligned to a product roadmap that can be reused in subsequent projects. Make technical recommendations ensuring that delivered systems comply with client architecture standards, integrating with other systems and external interfaces. Systematically evaluates process workflows to develop appropriate solutions or propose corrective action. Support NAM Sales Teams in new bids by performing requirements analysis, writing technical proposals, managing the development of software designs, analyzing alternatives, and presenting technical options, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations and solutions. Conduct technical workshops and perform system demonstrations. Participate in proposal development and scrum meetings. Apply tolling back office operational knowledge to analyze and identify critical areas for process improvement. Identify automation opportunities by using Tolling Back Office software in customer operations. Serve as technical lead on medium to large Design and Building tolling projects. Train the technical teams in North America, allocated to Kapsch’s Back Office tolling projects by bridging the Solution Center Hub and the technical solution capabilities from Argentina to USA. Ensure that Kapsch’s Back Office platform fulfills the needs of current and future projects in North America. Lead requirements analysis, validation, and verification, ensuring that requirement statements conform to standards. Elicit requirements using document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and competitive product analysis. Work with other professionals to document the product’s vision and the project’s scope. No Telecommuting Allowed.

Job Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Systems or Computer Science, plus 7 years of experience in the tolling and transportation back-office operations industry. Alternatively, the employer will accept 9 years of work experience in tolling & transportation back-office operations. Per 20 CFR 656.17(h)(4), any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.

Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: 1) Delivering full life cycle of Tolling projects, from requirements analysis to implementation and operations; 2) Using Unified Modeling Language (UML) modelling industry-based techniques and visual tools (Enterprise Architect Sparx and Microsoft Visio) to create System Architecture Designs, Component, Class, Activity, Data-Flows, and Context diagrams; 3) UX/GUI design utilizing tools such as Balsamiq, SmartDraw, and Draw.IO; 4) Writing System Architecture designs, detailed system Interfaces, and programming specifications; 5) Using programming languages like Delphi, C#, .NET, and database platforms, including MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle relational databases for data modeling, programming, and query performance tuning; 6) Conducting performance testing and validating non-functional requirements for Tolling systems using different techniques and tools, including JMeter, Postman API platform, ETL (Extract/Transform/Load), and tracking tools, including Atlassian JIRA, and Jira-Xray; and 7) Managing software development backlog using Scrum & Kanban methodologies, with CATS and Jira-Xray as tools.
