The Role:

Kapsch TrafficCom North America is seeking a Field Service Technician Supervisor who will supervise a staff of trained technicians, perform administrative duties, help maintain, and install ITS devices in and around the greater Memphis, TN area.

The supervisor will be responsible for leading the safe execution of the maintenance work for TDOT Region 4 with a focus on the daily, weekly and major repairs schedules. The supervisor plans, directs, coordinates and executes maintenance activities based on the client’s published schedule. The supervisor will monitor the progress of all tasks, deal with any roadblocks identified that limit the productivity of the crew, conduct site visits to ensure that all assigned work is performed in a safe manner, track schedule compliance, provide direct supervision during execution of major repairs and report on the maintenance progress of equipment. The individual will prepare maintenance procedures and standard jobs in accordance with company business objectives and company safety, health & environmental policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and work with technicians on performing maintenance, installs, modifications, and repairs ITS infrastructure equipment and related systems

  • Read plans, schematics, and drawings

  • Manage and maintain project and staff schedules

  • Implement preventative maintenance programs or practices

  • Review the system checks in the client’s data base daily

  • Create and provide a daily update to management on any items that need to be addressed

  • Monitor repairs for timely completion, QA inspections and submits supporting documents to appropriate personnel

  • Conduct weekly safety meetings to help promote safety in the workplace

  • Conduct daily discussions with team to ensure all needs are being met, assigned tasks are being completed; and ensuring that the team has an overall understanding of the system and equipment

What we are looking for:

  • Associate degree preferred or 5+ years relevant work experience 

  • In depth knowledge of ITS devices

  • IT Experience

  • Read system schematics

  • Good understanding of AC/DC circuitry

  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to follow specifications to install and implement system components

  • Monitors and approves installations, including providing direction to contracted vendors

  • Provides additional support to facility personnel including computing equipment installation, relocation and repair

  • Position will be local, but some travel may be required

Our top Candidates will have:

  • Experience with RF systems

  • Experience with fiber testing and termination

  • Hands on experience utilizing various RF test equipment and excellent troubleshooting skills
