Kapsch TrafficCom develops smart solutions to make mobility safer, more sustainable and efficient for everybody. The Role:
The Senior Technical Proposal Writer will work collaboratively with a team of professionals to create award winning documentation in response to public-sector proposals. The Proposal Writer will conduct research, interview subject matter experts, draft, edit, and format proposal documentation. Since proposal writing is a time sensitive creative endeavor the successful candidate must exhibit the skills necessary to work with and manage others in writing on large-scale schedule-driven creative processes. The position requires extensive cooperative writing and extensive interviewing skills. Must be methodical in approaching problems.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, research, and write compliant, persuasive proposal text in the areas of qualifications, experience, staffing, technical responses, and resumes.
Support proposal writing efforts on up to three proposals at once, working in conjunction with both operations and bid center writers.
Interview subject matter experts and draft proposal material for their review
Participate in and provide input during proposal development, i.e. theme and strategy development.
Support development of responses to Requests for Information or Requests for Qualifications
Participate in kickoff, solution, status meetings, and color reviews where appropriate
Develop operational, administrative, and technical knowledge
Assist in writing/editing/compliance functions as required
Assist production in proofreading and editing functions, and on book checks
Take on increasingly difficult technology and operational sections
Collaborate on the executive summary or other sections, as requested
Develop, maintain, and organize baseline content for author reuse
Support review of FOIA materials for competitive analysis and continuous improvement
Participate in the preparation of oral presentations
Other duties as assigned

What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, journalism, communications, public relations, or related discipline
Experience working in a proposal center setting
Experience writing government proposals for technical projects
Well-documented oral and written communication skills
High-level expertise in MS Word and PowerPoint
Willingness to work extended hours and travel, as needed
