The Role:

The Senior Tolling Solutions Architect will provide support for the Delivery Organization in the capacity of cross-project support, guidance and planning; provide tolling roadside and back office system architecture and technical design solutions to support customer projects; provide input to product management team, and business development support; support for bids, proposals, estimates; increase order intake.


  • Supports execution of customer projects with architecture and design of the overall tolling solution, including both Back Office and Roadside subsystems.

  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts in Application Center Tolling to align project requirements, architecture and design with product capabilities and roadmaps, driving toward reusability where possible.

  • Support project requirements reviews internally with proposed solutions and externally with customers to align on requirement interpretation and high-level solution architecture and design.

  • Identify technical risks on customer projects and corresponding mitigation strategies.

  • Support project teams with preparation of design deliverables, working closely with Application Center Tolling and core project team.

  • Participate in design reviews, both internal and external (customer-facing). Drive customer toward current product capabilities where possible.

  • Provide input to Product Management regarding industry trends, project needs and potential developing and maintaining product standards and specifications, and creating conceptual designs for generic development.

  • Identify opportunities to drive project implementation costs down through reuse, configurability and scope management.

  • Contributes to development of training standards and content for project delivery staff.

  • Participates in Software Requirements Specification reviews.

  • Supports in development of project design and delivery best practices and standards.

  • Supports Business Development during proposals by reviewing RFP requirements to determine compliance against product capabilities, identifying functional gaps and recommending technical design solutions, and providing engineering estimates and risk analysis.

  • Supports Sales and Marketing by providing input to marketing materials and creating presentations to customers, trade shows, and internal staff.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Applied Science, Technology diploma or equivalent

  • 5 years of experience in designing/configuring/deploying tolling roadside, host (Operational Back Office) and/or Commercial Back Office systems

  • 5 years of domain expertise in company markets

  • 2 years of experience supporting business development activities

  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise in tolling system architecture, application design, subsystem interfaces, and testing/deployment methods

  • Ability to analyze project requirements/customer needs and apply current solutions where applicable.  Where gaps are identified in product capabilities, able to develop creative and cost-effective solutions.

  • Ability to produce technical documents for design, proposals, and demo purposes
