Kapsch TrafficCom North America currently has an outstanding opportunity in the exciting and growing field in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). We are seeking a passionate and professional individual for a Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operator in our New Orleans, LA location. The work involves monitoring ITS devices located along local State and Federal Highways. The TMC is responsible for collecting and disseminating traveler information for real-time roadway conditions, dispatching and coordinating traffic incident management processes with the Motorist Assistance Patrol (MAP), First Responder Agencies and Local DOTD personnel.
The current opening is a full-time position (40 hrs/week) Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm to 10am, Sunday and Monday nights 10pm to 6am. Off days will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. Starting pay is $15.50 per hour with eligibility to participate in Kapsch' s comprehensive benefit package.

What we are looking for:
High School diploma
Prior work experience in a professional setting
Proficient with Windows PCs and in the use of a multi-monitor-computer workstation
Typing and/or data entry experience. Able to quickly and accurately enter and manage real-time data entry
Knowledge of Louisiana geography with a focus on the layout of the Statewide roadway system
Ability to multi-task in fast pace situations
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to pass a stringent background
