The Role:

Kapsch has an immediate opening for a 6-month fixed term Electrical Engineer in our Mississauga, Canada location. The Electrical Engineer will focus on discovering and developing new and innovative technology product ideas, strategic product extensions or enhancements to existing products for the translation of research discoveries into usable and marketable products.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, collect and evaluate new and innovative technology products

  • Lead, plan and track all phases of the technology product life cycle from inception through introduction into the marketplace

  • Appraise new technology product ideas to determine their potential to address customer needs and to achieve goals in revenue growth and market share

  • Establish technology product specifications and collaborates with various functions, including engineering, manufacturing, telecommunications, marketing and sales, to ensure successful product development and implementation

What we are looking for:

  • Experience with all phases of Product Development including:

    • Technical Scope review

    • Cost Estimations

    • Conceptual Design

    • Trade Studies

    • Circuit Design

    • Code Design

    • Layout requirements

    • Design Reviews

    • Product Testing and Integration

    • Production Support

  • 5 years’ experience with:

    • Xilinx FPGA code development, test bench development and testing

    • PIC coding using Assembler and "C"

    • PIC code testing using Controller IDE Platform

    • Digital Circuit Design

    • Analog Circuit Design

    • Python Script development for testing scenarios

    • Use of Lab equipment, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
