    Our ATMS is an umbrella system that brings together data from multiple traffic management systems, including traffic-light and signage systems. This is augmented with data from vehicles, mobile phones, and navigation systems – as well as third party information about, for example, changing weather conditions, unforeseen incidents, or planned construction zones.  

Bridges and Tunnels 

Our traffic management portfolio offers an industry-leading solution for bridges and tunnels.  It provides mission-critical support for integrated bridge and tunnel management across safety management, power management, and integrated supervisory command and data acquisition systems (SCADA) capabilities.  

The modular design of the Kapsch solution enables different, yet essential, systems to be fully integrated for the first time.  By collecting traffic data in real-time, users can detect and immediately respond to congestion, incidents, emergency situations, and other conditions. Emergency responses to life-threatening incidents can be activated and deployed automatically. Using our TIMP (Tunnel Incident Management Page) feature, however, operators can take manual control of emergency situations and consistently manage crisis events in an easy, intuitive manner. 

This upgrade is a win-win for all drivers who use our crossings by cutting precious minutes from daily commutes, by reducing vehicle accidents in toll lanes, and by decreasing emissions from vehicles waiting in line to pay cash at toll booths.
