The Role:

The TMC Shift Manager shall be responsible for operational consistency across all shifts in Kansas City Scout. The Shift Manager shall be responsible for overseeing and leading TMC operators, including training, scheduling and operational performance. The Shift Manager shall provide monthly refresher training on pertinent topics.  
As directed, the Shift Manager shall be available to support the updating of operating protocols and procedures, and include any new policies, directives and guidelines issued by the Client for use in the TMC. Due to the nature of operations, this shall be an ongoing task that will take place at any time a protocol or procedure needs to be updated at request of the local operations manager.  The TMC Shift Manager will be a direct report to the Kapsch TMC Operations Manager and be available to operate the system if requested. 
 

The pay rate for this position is $23.00 per hour along with eligibility to participate in Kapsch' s comprehensive benefit package. The work location is based in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the direct supervision of the TMC Operations staff, facilitating a cohesive and balanced operation

  • Develop monthly training refresher course for employees.

  • Provide QA/QC to events with the purpose of determining training needs.

  • Provide guidance and actively set an example for operations staff, ensuring that all Standard Operating Procedures are maintained and followed

  • Be available to provide hands-on training to all shifts on a scheduled basis.

  • On request by the TMC Operations Manager be able to be proficient in operations as a working operator. 

  • Assists with data collection to include in monthly reports, travel speed and travel time reports, incident reports and any other reports that are requested

  • Administrative functions, including: shift scheduling, training, personnel performance reviews, and conflict resolution

  • Perform Duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Three plus years TMC operational experience, or Two years TMC Operational plus One-year supervisory experience.

  • Must display proficiency in all aspects of KC Scout TMC operator duties.

  • Must understand pro-active TMC operations, incident management and congestion management.

  • Ability to assess a situation rapidly and act decisively.

  • Computer proficiency including, but not limited to Windows, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

  • Must be dedicated to employee development

  • Must have a flexible schedule

  • Utilize good verbal and written communications skills.

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to work in a team environment
