We are looking for a Full-time Data Architect.

Your responsabilites:

  • Lead architecture, design, troubleshooting and tuning of both the SW and HW empowering the Data Analytics processes across the organization such as databases and large-scale processing systems. 

  • Design and implement effective tools to extract and scrape data from different sources like the web, API's or Open Data portals.

  • Maintaining and versioning the datasets used in the training of our machine learning-based products. 

  • Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems. 

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of our data pipelines. 

  • Define security and backup procedures.

  • Train new users and support them on the use of the data analytics infrastructure. 

  • Contribute to developing the vision and strategy of the application of Data Analytics to our products.

What we're looking for:

  • 3 to 5 years of proven relevant experience. 

  • Hands-on experience with relational SQL, NoSQL and in-memory databases such as Cassandra, Postgres, REDIS, or HP Vertica. 

  • Proven experience using Cloud-based platforms such as Azure or AWS to build cost-effective architectures that empower our software services. 

  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines and architectures. Apache ecosystem expertise is preferred (Apache Spark, Kafka, Zookeeper, etc.). 

  • Working experience building tools capable of scraping data from the web or extracting data from API’s, Open Data Portals, etc.

  • Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable data stores: Apache Kafka, Apache Pulsar, Kafka-connect, etc.

  • Experience with GIS tools and spatial data management. 

  • Expert know-how on building an optimal technological stack for each use case by analyzing and benchmarking different data storage/analytics solutions.

  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker and/or Kubernetes.

  • Experience with cloud services such as Azure or AWS. 

  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages preferably Python and Java. 

  • Ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges in an enterprise environment. Leadership and innovation around Data Analytics. 

  • Experience working in an agile environment. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

Good to have: 

  • Experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning related libraries and platforms (sklearn, dask, tensorflow, etc.). 

  • Experience designing and developing Data Marts and/or using IoT plaforms. 

  • Good knowledge of challenges, issues and good practices around data privacy.
