Kapsch BusinessCom expanding in the DACH region.

As the result of its takeover of eCrome Systems AG, Austria’s leading digitalization partner has now expanded its presence to include a subsidiary in Switzerland. Kapsch is also intensifying its strategic sales partnership with UPC in Switzerland. In Germany, the integration of Kapsch Carrier Solutions GmbH into Kapsch BusinessCom has been completed. Following these new additions, Kapsch BusinessCom has significantly extended its market presence in the DACH region.

Vienna, November 6, 2018 – Austria’s ICT market leader strengthens both its presence and service offering across national boundaries. “We are posititioning ourselves as an ICT and digitalization partner in the DACH region,” says Jochen Borenich, member of the Management Board of Kapsch BusinessCom. The new subsidiaries bring Kapsch BusinessCom even closer to its customers in Germany and Switzerland. “Moreover, the additional expertise is a strategically valuable supplement to our own services,” he adds. The new additions are designed to strengthen the Carrier and Utilities business units, as well as Healthcare.

eCrome Systems AG becomes Kapsch BusinessCom

eCrome Systems AG, based in St. Gallen and founded in 1995, is an IT system integrator specialized in managed services for data center, network, and collaboration solutions. More than 50 reference customers form the ideal fundament for further market development with the entire Kapsch BusinessCom portfolio. The takeover of eCrome Systems AG also includes its 100% subsidiary eCrome Medical AG which specializes in e-health solutions. “Over the past years, eCrome has successfully established long-term IT service contracts, making it the perfect match for us as the leading IT managed services partner in Austria,” explains Jochen Borenich. The management in Switzerland will continue to be led by its current CEO Emil Friedauer. The next step is to gradually integrate the company into Kapsch BusinessCom and to expand the portfolio.

ICT and digitalization partner for UPC in Switzerland

For more than a year, Kapsch has been providing security and network solutions as well as network services to the Swiss market through its sales partner UPC (Switzerland’s second largest carrier), and has succeeded in securing its first major projects, including the network outsourcing for the Thurgauer Kantonalbank. With balance sheet total of over CHF 21 billion, the bank is relying on Kapsch BusinessCom expertise to update and operate its complete network infrastructure for the next six years.

Established in Germany

In early April 2018, the process of integrating German company Kapsch Carrier Solutions GmbH into Kapsch BusinessCom was completed. “By integrating the German subsidiaries we are using portfolio, expertise, and target group synergies, intensifying our industry focus on carriers and utilities, allowing us to address the German market with the digitalization approach which has already proved so successful in Austria,” says Jochen Borenich. Working together with German office furniture manufacturer Sedus, for example, Kapsch has developed an intelligent office solution for smart working environments based on a Kapsch IoT solution.

Kapsch BusinessCom in Germany currently has a comprehensive portfolio of transmission technologies and security solutions ranging from radio and information technologies, voice and data over IP to radio relay, DSL, and fibre optic access solutions. In the future, it will position itself in the German market as a digitalization partner for a variety of industries. The company will be managed by Ralf Arweiler and Wolfgang Matschke. At the company headquarters in Neuss near Düsseldorf, and at the office in Frankfurt, Kapsch has already completed projects for companies including QSC, ONTRAS, Helvetia, and M-Net.

Kapsch BusinessCom, a Kapsch Group company, supports companies in taking their business performance to the next level and developing new business models. As a leading partner in digitalization, the company operates as a consultant, system supplier, and service provider. Kapsch BusinessCom is the ideal partner for keeping abreast of rapidly evolving digital technologies thanks to its widespread expertise in handling large quantities of data and matters of security, in addition to the valuable experience gained from successful implementation of a variety of use cases across numerous industries. The company’s comprehensive portfolio in Austria, Romania and the DACH region includes technology solutions for intelligent and – most importantly – secure ICT infrastructure along with smart building technology, media and security technology, and outsourcing services. Kapsch pursues a strategy of manufacturer independence, cooperates with leading global providers such as HPE, Cisco, and Microsoft, and participates in a wide network of research partners and industry-specific solution providers ranging from startups to major corporations.

Kapsch BusinessCom services more than 17,000 customers both locally and globally, including Allianz, Erste Bank, ÖBB, OMV, ORF, and Vodafone. In the fiscal year 2017/18, Kapsch BusinessCom generated revenue of approximately EUR 318 million with its 1,200 employees.
