carriers.reference cases

Kapsch CarrierCom was responsible for the digitalization of fixed networks in Austria in the 1980ies. In the 1990ies the company expanded into providing the first mobile networks/GSM in Europe. At that time Kapsch CarrierCom also started building and upgrading networks in the CEE region.

Here is a selection of our most remarkable projects:

2000

Kapsch CarrierCom begins upgrading Mobilkom Austria’s GSM network to GPRS technology and implements location-based services. This is one of the world's first commercial GPRS networks.

2001

Kapsch CarrierCom is awarded with the installation, integration and maintenance of the core and radio UMTS network for mobilkom austria AG. This is one of the first UMTS projects in Europe.

2006

Mobilkom Austria moves forward with Kapsch CarrierCom to replace its legacy IN-network. Kapsch deploys an NGIN (Next Generation Intelligent Network) solution for 2G and 3G services and enhances the functionality of the NGIN platform to include access form an IMS domain.

In the same year Kapsch delivers a new Message Service Platform for T-Mobile in Macedonia.

2007

Kapsch CarrierCom delivers a new messaging gateway for Hrvatski Telekom in Croatia and deploys our Content Delivery Platform for T-Mobile in Montenegro.

2008

Kapsch CarrierCom deploys a nation-wide IP/MPLS network for Mtel, Bulgaria.

2009

Kapsch CarrierCom helps eircom replace its legacy intelligent network system with our NGIN solution and migrates business services such as VPN and Number Portability to the new platform.

2010

Chungwa Telecom signs a multi-year network maintenance and support contract with Kapsch CarrierCom, including an upgrade of the carrier’s BSS software. In the same year Saudi Telecom selects Kapsch to develop, install and integrate a Credit Control System based on our Fraud Management Solution. In France, Kapsch CarrierCom is selected as a partner for Orange and Bouygues. The company is responsible for the roll-out and maintenance of the 2G network for both carriers.

2011

Kapsch CarrierCom put a Mobile Number Portability Solution in place for mobile operators in Belarus, including the Beltelecom, MTS and Life.

2012

Kapsch CarrierCom migrates A1 Telekom Austria’s entire TDM network to IP and helps Telekom Austria Group integrate Policy Manager across six countries in the CEE region.

2013

Algérie Telecom chooses Kapsch CarrierCom to supply its transmission converter devices for the next 3 years.

2014

BICS (Belgacom International Carrier Services) selects Kapsch CarrierCom to deploy and support its next-generation signalling network. In the same year, Legos chooses Kapsch to deploy its signaling network in France.
