Kapsch Awards for the best master theses from the UAS Technikum Wien

Vienna, November 4, 2016 – This year was the ninth occasion on which Kapsch and the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien handed out EUR 2,000 Kapsch Awards for the best master theses. On the grounds of the outstanding performance – one of the participation criteria is the highest possible grade average of 1.0 – of this year’s students, a total of seven rather than six awards were awarded to students in the various degree subjects. Projects were submitted by students from 18 of the master’s degree programs offered at the UAS Technikum Wien including, among others, Information Management and IT Security, Healthcare and Rehabilitation Technology, Telecommunications and Internet Technologies, and Software Engineering.

“The decision on the seven winning projects was definitely also not easy for the UAS Technikum Wien this year. Every year I am amazed by the innovative spirit of the students and the high quality of their work”, Rudolf Bernscherer, Head of Human Resources at Kapsch Group, commenting on the awards ceremony.

Gabriele Költringer, General Manager of Technikum Wien GmbH, on the awards and the collaboration with Kapsch: “The career opportunities available in technical professionals are still extremely varied. Our graduates are in high demand among employers. Nonetheless, every project and every award received by our students is an extra qualification enabling them to better position themselves in the employment market. We are delighted to have introduced these awards in cooperation with Kapsch and, as a result, to be able to honor those students who have performed with excellence.”

The seven winners of the Kapsch Awards not only prepared outstanding master theses but also completed their final degree year and the Master’s degree exam with honors in addition to finishing their studies within the defined time limit.
