Products and components are the core technologies – together with application software and back office applications - which are developed and manufactured by Kapsch. Kapsch TrafficCom maintains 8 engineering competence centers on 4 continents solely charged with the development and improvement of the ITS and ETC suite of products. In addition, two manufacturing facilities ensure product manufacturing according to international ISO standards.

Operations
Kapsch TrafficCom offers a comprehensive portfolio of technical and commercial operations services. Technical operations focuses on providing implementation, maintenance, asset management and support services for roadside-related activities to ensure the ongoing integrity of the tolling and enforcement operations, including Road Side Services, Mobile Enforcement, Point of Sale Applications and Back Office Databases and Applications.
Kapsch TrafficCom Technical Operations is certified according to ISO20000 (ITIL) since October 2008 and adheres to ITIL principles. The performance of the operated system is monitored continuously based on contractually agreed key performance indicators (KPI) and service levels (SLA) achieved.
Commercial Operations handles the design and development of the organizational structure, all processes and responsibilities which are essential for the operation of an electronic toll collection system: road user services, payment services as well as enforcement services. Road User Services include the planning and implementation of point-of-sale systems, the provision of call centers and the design of suitable web portals – to meet the varied information needs of road users in a cost-effective, timely manner. Payment Services are a comprehensive offering, from invoicing through to reminders and dunning - , and support a variety of payment systems, such as cash, credit card or fleet card. To enable enforcement of the toll collection process, within the scope of an operations project, we also install validation centers and provide specific measures for portable and mobile enforcement. The central system, managed by Kapsch TrafficCom Operations Management, integrates all the elements of this complex process.
