Vienna, 21 June 2012 – Yesterday afternoon was all about clouds: extreme sportsman Hannes Arch was the star guest at the cloud computing event in Vienna held by ICT services provider and cloud specialist Kapsch. A multiple winner and runner-up of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship, Hannes Arch gave some breath-taking insight into life "above the clouds". Kapsch professionals took a look behind the cloud, demonstrating in exciting keynote speeches just what changes this will mean for corporate IT and how cloud computing solutions can contribute to a flexible and cost-effective IT infrastructure. And participants were able to get to know the outstanding sportsman personally during the subsequent "meet & greet" event.
"Hannes Arch lives an amazing life above the clouds. While not quite as audacious, our cloud computing solutions are no less exciting. According to a study conducted by Gartner, the cloud computing market will grow to USD 150 billion by 2013, and there are no doubts whatsoever that the cloud has already changed the way we work," explained Jochen% Borenich, MBA, COO of Kapsch BusinessCom. "What is more, mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets are constantly creating new challenges for IT specialists. This is where cloud computing can support efficient and secure integration by means of virtualisation and automation."
Exceptional sportsman, high-flyer and cloud specialist
In the course of his career, extreme sportsman Hannes Arch has conquered the dizziest of heights in the world, has jumped off the highest cliffs, and he is famous for pulling off audacious aerobatic manoeuvres just a few metres above the ground. An all-round adventurer from Austria, he began his sporting career very early. At only 19 he was already a certified mountain and ski guide, and by the age of 23 he was one of the best mountaineers and climbers in the world. In 2007, Hannes Arch became Austria's first participant in the Red Bull Air Race World Series, becoming World Champion in 2008 followed by two runners-up titles in 2009 and 2010.
