Kapsch CarrierCom AG continues to expand in Croatia by acquiring Ring Datacom, the leading Croatian Fraud Management supplier.

Kapsch CarrierCom AG expands its competencies in Croatia. Effective July 6th, 2009, Kapsch TIS d.o.o. will acquire the Croatian company Ring Datacom. Ring Datacom, a specialist in Fraud Management Systems (FMS), Multi-Channel Contact Centres, Operational CRM solutions as well as mobile payment and content solutions, has many years of expertise particularly in the Southeastern European telecommunications markets. The company is one of the leading suppliers of Fraud Management solutions for mobile operators. Ring Datacom’s innovative software solutions adapt constantly to the market’s new challenges and perfectly complement Kapsch CarrierCom’s existing product range.

One of our main success factors is the continuing expansion of our product and competence portfolio for our customers. With the acquisition of Ring Datacom, we are now able to serve the Southeastern European market with the entire Kapsch CarrierCom portfolio directly from Croatia”, explained Thomas Schöpf, Kapsch CarrierCom AG’s CEO. “After the acquisition of TIS.kis, Ring Datacom is our second acquisition in Croatia within weeks. We continue to grow in Southern and Southeastern Europe even in the challenging economic environment”, said Schöpf.

Protection against network hackers – Top “Fraud Management System”
The “Ring Fraud Management System” (Ring FMS) is a fraud detection, analysis and decision support application environment for mobile telecommunications service providers. It serves to assist fraud management personnel in detecting and analyzing fraud, as well recommending fraud counter-measures. Ring FMS has been on the market since 1999, and is successfully deployed with several GSM operators in Croatia, Slovenia and Austria.

With this newly acquired expertise, Kapsch is now able to better serve its local customers. The company is planning to establish a competence centre for Fraud Management. The entire Eastern and Southeastern European region can benefit from this know-how”, explained Richard Neussl, Kapsch TIS d.o.o’s Managing Director. The acquisition and the planning of the competence centre will increase the number of employees: “In 2004, we started with four employees in Croatia, and in the meantime we have grown to fifty employees”, said Neussl.

Kapsch’s development partnership with the university of Zagreb
Kapsch relies on local development university partnerships. Kapsch CarrierCom will use the development partnership in Zagreb for customer projects in Croatia as well as for the regional markets.
