TIS.kis is a ‘hidden champion’ in the industry and fits ideally into our portfolio”, said Schöpf.
With this merger, Kapsch CarrierCom can strongly demonstrate its expertise in Southeastern Europe in the future. The main competence of TIS.kis is the development of messaging solutions, which enables mobile operators to compete in the challenging telecommunications market. The portfolio of TIS.kis includes Messaging Platforms and Gateways, Device Management, Mobile Content Servers und WAP-Gateways. Due to this extensive knowledge, TIS.kis will take on the responsibility for an international messaging competence centre in the future.
A further focus of Kapsch TIS is the competence centre for the GGSN solution from Starent. With this very innovative platform, high-speed multimedia services such as video, internet and television can be implemented in 3G/UMTS and LTE networks.
TIS.kis is also internationally active as the company is present in Macedonia where it sells its solutions via a subsidiary.
In the course of the acquisition, approximately 20 employees from the leading provider of mobile software solutions in Eastern Europe will expand Kapsch’s Croatian team. Kapsch is present in Croatia since the late 80’s in the area of analogue wireless railway communications.
Kapsch plans development partnerships with the University of Zagreb
Kapsch is planning to implement development university partnerships with the University of Zagreb and will use them for customer projects in Croatia as well as for the regional markets.
