The existing GSM-R requirements are supplemented by special services,

such as ASCI (Advanced Speech Call Items):

  • eMLPP (enhanced Multi-Level Precedence and Preemption) repression and prioritization of calls
  • VBS (Voice Broadcast Services) in order to deliver voice information to a group of subscribers simultaneously
  • VGCS (Voice Group Call Service) groups of subscribers can talk among each other and to each other

As well as railway-specific services:

  • FA (Functional Addressing) and Presentation of Functional Numbers in order to reach the train driver under the train number and to display it
  • AM (Access Matrix) to organize access to groups or subscribers, e.g. subscribers of group A must not call subscribers of group B.
  • LDA (Location Dependent Addressing) facilitates controlling the caller depending on his location or region.
