The new Graz branch of Kapsch BusinessCom, located on Neuseiersberger Strasse, shone in all its splendor during its formal opening on September 30th, 2009. The head of the Graz office, Igo Huber, had the honor of welcoming the Deputy Governor of Styria, Hermann Schützenhöfer, and the Mayor of Graz, Siegfried Nagl, in addition to over 200 other guests in attendance. In his speech, Hermann Schützenhöfer praised the company’s willingness to invest despite the current economic situation and emphasized the positive signal this sends for the region. Siegfried Nagl also sees this expansion by Kapsch as a strong sign and highlighted the fact that, as a city of science, Graz represents an excellent location for high-tech companies like Kapsch BusinessCom. He also emphasized the city’s many years of excellent cooperation with Kapsch. The ceremony was hosted by ORF presenter Simona Pindeus.
Another highlight of the evening was the exciting multimedia presentation, "Once Around the World with Kapsch", in which Norbert Sedlacek reported on his experiences participating in the Vendée Globe 2008. As a participant in this race and sailing under the "Kapsch flag", Sedlacek last year became the first Austrian to sail solo around the world nonstop. The celebration concluded with a buffet catered by Do&Co and live music by Graz jazz singer Maja Jaku and her ensemble.

Through the purchase of the EarthDATAsafe (the 'sphere' on the S6), a high-security data center in an underground complex near Kapfenberg, we are in a position to offer all types of data center services, such as housing, hosting and, above all, system management", informs Igo Huber. With roughly 1,700 customers, we earn an annual turnover of 20 million euros in the southern region.
