Dr. Kari Kapsch was born in Vienna in 1964 and attended the Humanistische Gymnasium (academic secondary school) in Fichtnergasse. After completing the “Matura” school-leaving examination, he studied physics at the University of Vienna until 1988 and obtained his doctorate in 1992.

Dr. Kari Kapsch was active at Kapsch AG as head of Hybrid Manufacturing from 1982 to 1989 and then worked at ANT, a member of the Bosch Group, in Germany for one year.

In 1990, he returned to Kapsch AG as head of the SGB 4 – Industrial Electronics Division. In autumn 1995, he became head and authorised signatory of the SGB 2 Traffic Control Systems and Communication Engineering Division, in 1997 he became head of the CCN – Corporate Communications Networks Division and in March 2001 he became a member of the Managing Board of Kapsch AG.

Dr. Kapsch has been a member of the Managing Board of the “Junge Industrie Wien” since 1993, and was Chairman of the Managing Board of “Junge Industrie Wien” and Vice-Chairman of “Junge Industrie Österreich” from 1996 to 2002.
He has been a member of the Board of the Federation of Austrian Industry, Vienna (Industriellenvereinigung Wien) since 1999.
