The training paths founded in 2007 by A1 and Kapsch in cooperation with the Life Long Learning Academy of the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien makes an important contribution to the quality of domestic ICT employees. For budding technicians (mostly apprentices), the ICT Academy leads to certification that is unique in Austria.
The Kapsch Group has offered one of the most renowned and traditional apprentice training courses in the field of technology across Austria for over 70 years. Every year, the Austrian company trains 60 apprentices for itself and around 200 for third parties, in eight different technical and commercial apprenticeship trades.
Apprenticeship as a springboard

ICT certification with industry-wide recognition
At the ICT Academy, the budding technicians work towards an additional industry-recognised ICT certification on three levels – Basic, Advanced and Professional. They reach Professional Level after completing 30 days of training and successfully passing the final examination. On the first two levels, the training focuses primarily on IP technologies, Transport Services, Mobile & Wireless, IT Security and Soft Skills. These are then dealt with in greater depth in the subsequent Professional Level. The teaching plan for the third level also includes the IT topics of IP-TV and Unified Communications. A1, Kapsch and the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien guarantee the long-term compliance with high standards during the training. Graduating from the ICT Academy is thus an important asset for successfully embarking on a career.
