Vehicle Detection, Classification and Recognition

LVDC:
Kapsch TrafficCom LVDC is a laser-scanner based system for vehicle identification and classification. The system does not require any intervention in the road surface and with an array of up to 8 scanners is suitable for any road width. LVDC can be used in multilane free flow environments or for classification in single lane operation.

VDC:
Kapsch VDC is a unique, video based high performance system for detecting and measuring vehicles. The data produced by the VDC can be utilised for in-depth analysis of traffic, in real-time, such as for measurement of traffic throughput volume or for various traffic statistics.

The VDC is superior in managing high traffic volumes and traffic queues with stop & go behaviour through the detection zone, thanks to the concept of tracking each vehicle through the complete detection zone of the camera sensor units. It is also very robust in regard of weather and light conditions compared with competing technologies.

It also supplies data for each passing vehicle, such as position, size, speed, etc. Overview images captured by the measurement sensor camera can also be produced.

The Kapsch VDC product family consists of the overhead mounted sensor units, a sensor interface board for the fiber interface between the controller and the sensors, and a PC based controller.

The VDC is used for detection, classification and triggering of registration images in the Kapsch MLFF System.

VR-2:
Kapsch TrafficCom VR-2 System is a fully digital, triggerable enforcement and license plate recognition system used in electronic fee collection as enforcement stations in multilane free flow as well as single lane environments. The system is optimised to work reliably under the most difficult environmental and densest traffic conditions. The result is a digital image and a license plate number transmitted via OCR recognition. The system architecture guarantees a secure and chronologically correct image capture and processing. Front or rear images of vehicles can be analysed. The Kapsch TrafficCom VR-2 product family consists of a camera, external or integrated infrared flash, as well as an acquisitions module.

VDR:
The Kapsch VDR is a self contained vehicle detection, registration and ANPR system. It is capable of detecting vehicles arriving in the field of view of the built in camera and capture images of them, and also evaluate the license plate through OCR.

The VDR can be set so that several units cover a wider road, and also that colour overview VDR units are triggered by the License Plate VDR units to provide colour overview images as support to the black & white License Plate images.

The VDR is used for detecting vehicles and capturing overview and license plate images in our Kapsch City Mobility systems.
