Central System

The central back office system of the Kapsch charging system provides all functionality needed to process data coming from the stations (DSRC tolling station, DSRC/Video tolling station, enforcement station) in the field as well as GNSS vehicle positioning data captured by the hybrid GPS/DSRC onboard units:

handling toll transactions and related data
handling enforcement records and data necessary for enforcement processes
hosts all services and data usually needed by other subsystems
hosts the customer relationship (CRM) module and all other subsystems necessary for the invoicing process and dealing with points of sale

The central system consists of a database-cluster that is designed for highest availability. The application comprises a comprehensive and flexible workflow engine.
