Vienna, November 23, 2016 – Not just one but two Kapsch Group companies have been honored with renowned Austrian sector prizes. Kapsch TrafficCom won third place in the “Austria’s Leading Companies” competition in the category of Austrian companies with annual revenue of more than EUR 50 million. In a comparison of Vienna companies, the Kapsch specialist for intelligent transportation systems was awarded first place in the “Big Player” category. The award was bestowed for the 18th time by PwC Austria and the Kreditschutzverband von 1870 (KSV 1870). A weighting system for key indicators was used to compare revenue and earnings growth over the past three years as well as equity ratios and liquidity.
Kapsch Components, the Kapsch Group’s production company, benefits from its many years of experience in the manufacture of high-quality electronic products for the telecommunications, telematics, and industrial electronics sectors. The company’s Vienna production facility was awarded the title of “Green Factory” in connection with the “Fabrik 2016” competition. Kapsch Components succeeded in impressing the experts with the methods implemented in Vienna to boost added value by optimizing resource management and environmental management. The prize has been awarded a total of seven times by Industriemagazin and Fraunhofer Austria. Following an extensive selection process by Fraunhofer Austria, the top ten companies were evaluated on site. At the end, the category winners answered questions posed by a jury of experts at a public event.
