NGN (Next Generation Network)

NGN (Next Generation Network) is the umbrella term for a network structure that enables a provider to make his network(s) fit for the future. NGN by nature consists of several components that, through perfect interaction, constitute the particular functionality and efficiency of the network.

The migration from pure voice- or data networks to a common platform for all data services constitutes a high potential of cost reduction for the customer and safeguards investments already made. When NGN was developed, exactly those items had been considered in order to offer the network operators a structure that is on the one hand future-proof but on the other hand also minimized in costs and expandable (HW and SW).

The future network is based

  • on a universal, packet-oriented NGN transport network for the transmission of all kinds of data
  • on scalable and flexible gateways for access to the end customer and cooperation of networks
  • and on various servers responsible for control, management and service provisioning

This enables the network operator to provide his customers with unprecedented speeds, capacities and reliability outshining today's mainstream. It also means, however, to be well prepared for tomorrow's developments - no matter how fast technology will advance.

    Voice over IP (VoIP)

Our Voice over IP portfolio (VoIP) is an economic engine, expanding current revenue streams and powering future growth. It also simplifies the network, enabling a host of new efficiencies, such as superior bandwidth utilization, expanded geographical reach, and lower cost of ownership and operation.

Whether you wish to build up a new network or to maximize an existing IP- or ATM investment, our packet access and trunking solutions are flexible and future-proof, making possible a broad range of applications and adapting easily to changing business requirements.
