With the establishment of a new office in Ljubljana, Kapsch CarrierCom AG takes a further step in the successful expansion of its business activities in Southeastern Europe

In the course of a successful program of internationalization Kapsch CarrierCom AG extends its operational presence in Southeastern Europe (SEE). After the expansion of the business activities in Belgrade, Sofia and Zagreb, and with the opening of this subsidiary in Slovenia, Kapsch continues successfully its SEE expansion strategy.

"One of our biggest future opportunities is certainly situated in the Southeastern region of Europe. Through our own employees we develop our technical skills in the SEE countries. Together with our clients we would like to achieve a strategic objective, namely the development of the whole Southeastern region of Europe", said Thomas Schöpf, Member of the Board of KCC. The company can be referenced with a strong tradition in Central and Eastern Europe. Since the beginning of the 90's Kapsch is successfully active in Hungary, Czech Republic, Croatia and Bulgaria; and recently established a new subsidiary in Serbia. Kapsch CarrierCom plans also to develop new ties, for example with Macedonia.

The Kapsch CarrierCom AG subsidiary in Slovenia (Kapsch d.o.o. Ljubljana) starts its activity with 4 staff members. This new office will be a local centre of competence and technology. At the same time the company will work together very closely with other offices in the region and local Universities, which strengthens the local market position of Kapsch CarrierCom. The most recent client of Kapsch CarrierCom in Slovenia is Si.mobil. By the use of Nortel Multi Service Switch (MSS) KCC successfully supports Si.mobil UMTS- and IP Networks. This new subsidiary is for Kapsch a starting point for the development of new projects, e.g. GSM-R in the field of Railway Communication. Kapsch already realised successfully GSM-R solutions in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria.

The market conditions in Slovenia are still very attractive. In 2007, Slovenia registered with 6.1 the highest GDP - growth since 1991. Despite some predicted slowdown, the economy of Slovenia will continue to grow in the years to come” explains Richard Neussl, Managing Director of Kapsch d.o.o. Ljubljana."
